Following an invitation from the Cyclades Development Company, and within the framework of a project it is implementing, we had the pleasure and honor to present the Andros Routes project for the paths of Andros, to professionals and interested citizens of the islands of Sifnos and Serifos, within the framework of a seminar-workshop, entitled “Walking tourism & Ecotourism”, on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th April 2025 at the Sifnos Cultural Center “Marianthi Simou”, in the “Limnes” area in Artemonas, Sifnos and at the Serifos Primary School on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April.

The aim of the seminar-workshop, in which Olga Karagianni was the trainer, was to strengthen the knowledge and skills of the human resources of Sifnos and Serifos, in key fields of the tourism sector and in particular Hiking tourism and Ecotourism. As part of the seminar, hikes were also held on short routes of Sifnos and Serifos and visits and discussions with local producers, potters in Sifnos and a beekeeper in Serifos.

The participants, residents of the area who are active in tourism businesses, showed great interest in the issues analyzed, as well as the example of Andros. Some of them will visit our island in the near future to come into close contact with the operating methods of the Andros Routes project, in terms of the care and maintenance of the routes, as well as the establishment of a hiking tourism “product” in their areas.
