As every year, either online or in person, meetings of representatives of the hiking routes of Europe certified with the Leading Quality Trails (LQT) – Best of Europe standard are held, which are organized by the European Hiking Federation.

This year’s meeting was held in the Toulava region in South Bohemia, Czech Republic, hosted by the local tourism organization and the participation of representatives from 8 countries.

We had the pleasure and honor to participate in this meeting representing the Andros Route, which, with the initiative and actions of our organization, following all the necessary actions, and covering the relevant costs, was certified in 2015 for the first time and has maintained it since then, implementing the necessary renewals as foreseen every 3 years. Our organization and the Andros Routes project were represented by Olga Karagianni.

During the meeting, interesting actions and initiatives were presented, ERA actions and the participants were given the valuable opportunity to exchange views and discuss the challenges and opportunities of hiking, while hikes and visits to cultural attractions were carried out.

These meetings with other representatives of certified routes are very important because they offer valuable knowledge and good practices in ensuring quality standards including safety, infrastructure and sustainability.
