On Sunday, 11th October, we hike the Arni – Profitis Ilias – Kouvara – Vourkoti route.
One of the most spectacular routes on Andros, taking us from the island’s highest peak, Kouvara, and the lush valley of Arni to the mountain village of Vourkoti. Stunning views from the ridge, picturesque little chapels, and the forested settlement of Arni, with its numerous springs, characterise this route, which passes through areas of exceptional biodiversity. At the end of the hike, those who wish can join the 4th Rakokazano & Boiled Goat Festival, organised by the Vourkoti Cultural Association.
Difficulty level: medium- difficult
Distance: 7 km
With our steps, we are helping to keep the path open! Along the way, we will cut back any vegetation that has grown back to block the path and clear any garbage.
