Andros Routes Participates in WWF Greece Workshop on the Gyaros Visitor Management Plan in Syros
Following an invitation from WWF Greece, Olga Karagianni travelled to Syros on 27–28 May 2026 to share the experience of the Andros Routes initiative and participate in a two-day stakeholder workshop dedicated to developing a Visitor Management Plan for the Gyaros Marine Protected Area (MPA).
During the workshop, the Gyaros Co-management Committee—a WWF Greece working group established to support the long-term development and governance of the Gyaros Marine Protected Area—presented its vision for the future management of the island and its surrounding marine environment.
Throughout the two-day meeting, participating organizations contributed their expertise, experience, and recommendations to the development of the visitor management plan for this site of exceptional historical significance and outstanding environmental importance.
We extend our sincere thanks to WWF Greece for the invitation, which provided another valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas with leading organizations and researchers working across the Aegean region.
